Strategic partnership announced
In March of 2017 Creaholic and Swisscom announced their intention to form a joint venture that would lead the world in disruptive innovation. On 1 May 2017, almost 30 Human Centred Design experts moved from Swisscom to Creaholic to begin this process (read the press release).
It was a perfect match. Creaholic contributed 30 years’ experience with developing innovations and founding start-ups, while the Human Centred Design team brought 14 years of experience transforming the culture of large enterprises. This combination of skills supports a range of services that’s unique in Switzerland.
For the Human Centred Design team, it was also the right time to take a bold step, so that their influence could be felt outside of Swisscom as well.

Dual collaboration model
The model of collaboration is allocated as follows:
Creaholic focuses on mid- and long-term innovation projects and uses their cross-industry know-how to bring inspiration to ongoing projects. In addition, Creaholic is supporting and further developing training modules in the area of Human Centred Design and the innovative Pulse employee survey.
Approximately 35 Human Centred Design professionals remain at Swisscom, where they focus on incremental innovations for projects that require specific Swisscom process know-how. Internally, they also handle market research and the development of knowledge about their customers.

The journey continues
So far, the partnership has taken on and implemented many joint projects in every Swisscom department. In addition, their offerings and the possibilities for collaboration are constantly being explored, expanded and adapted as necessary.
As for Creaholic, the merger has provided us a boost. In one fell swoop, the diversity of our team was significantly increased, and this is ultimately one of the most important contributors to the success of innovation.
